Dear Members,
I hope this email finds you well.
This email serves to provide an update on a number of important matters.
The NSW Chief Health Officer has issued a reminder in relation to public health measures to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmissions. These public health measures include:
For the avoidance of doubt, the MFA local competition will continue as planned. As we’ve stated from the outset, the situation is dynamic and we must continue to remain vigilant by respecting the public health measures. The measures are in place to not only reduce the risk of transmission, but to ensure we can keep community sport operating.
Good afternoon all;
Firstly apologies for the delay in communicating how the washed out round of 8-10 Aug 2020 will be treated, and how this then affects the remainder of the rounds for the 9 and 10 competitions.
We have taken on board some of the feedback provided when arriving at our final position, and thank those people who took the time to provide some commentary to us. All of the suggestions had merit, but ultimately we had to determine the fairest and most equitable way to treat the washed out fixtures. Obviously the outcome will not sit well with everyone, but we had to make a decision that has less impact to the already compromised season, and one that was deemed the fairest outcome to all.
We do mention that the outcome detailed below was discussed with the CMC and competitions team for their approval before finalising.
It should also be highlighted that the original plan to introduce an odds and evens round of fixtures to see out the season for the 9 and 10 team competitions has been set aside with a new format as detailed below introduced (the teams still end up with the same promised number of rounds as discussed before the season commenced).
Changes to the draws (to Round 10 for nine & ten team competitions) and results (8 team competitions and below) will be applied over the next few days.
